It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian West used a surrogate to have her daughter Chicago, and anyone who’s been through the surrogacy process or even considered it, will know that it can be a mentally challenging time

Now the reality TV star and business woman has revealed that she struggled through the surrogacy process. So much so, that she has now revealed on the All’s Fair With Laura Wasser podcast that she used a surrogate therapist to help her.

The surrogate therapist was encouraged and arranged through the surrogate broker they used, and acted as a “liaison” between Kim and her surrogate

Prior to Chicago’s birth, Kim had openly spoken about the difficulties involved with the surrogacy process, saying, “The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it’s the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody”.

After two difficult and traumatic pregnancies with her first two children North, now six years old and Saint now four, her doctors suggested she use a surrogate as a gestational carrier

It was then that the surrogacy broker suggested a therapist. Kim found the whole process much easier because of that support, but said by the time they also used a surrogate to have fourth child Psalm, “she knew the drill” and so didn’t feel the need for a therapist second time around.

During the surrogate’s pregnancy with Chicago, the therapist would suggest specific types of contact with their surrogate. Kim says the therapist would say, “Hey, I think you guys should communicate once a week through text, maybe on Mother’s Day. She’s a mother as well. Maybe get her a massage or something that’s appropriate for her to pamper her”.

They also used the therapist to make sure all parties were heard and their opinions valued, such as “This is who I want in the room, are you comfortable with that . . .”

But eventually Kim says, “Towards the end we got close enough where we could communicate really without that” but having that additional help was a great support.
